Camp Createability Academy

Allow the Createability Academy to help you gain the skills needed for your dream job! Below are some of the different career paths we can help you with.

Vocational Training Programs

Our vocational program has a variety of options to prepare young adults with Autism or other disabilities for careers. Options include the following: art, digital media, animation, visual effects, filmmaking and editing. Camp Createability is a dynamic solution to the high unemployment and social isolation rates, which are characteristic of young adults with disabilities as they age out of the public school system. We work with individuals and their support systems. Support systems include family, guardians, schools, and/or financial and funding agencies to assist in evaluating and planning for the individuals vocational needs. We also support those who seek self-employment as an option.

Every individual who comes into our program is given the training, tools, and support necessary to begin a lifelong journey of self-discovery, confidence and triumph. Let Camp Createability help create your journey to success!

Camp Createability Media Lab

The Camp Createability Media Lab is aimed to equip individuals with Autism or other disabilities with experience in media production. They can develop professional career skills in a digital media, animation, film or arts profession. This program is based around access to professional tools, applying participant goals to industry standards and producing creative content.

This is created by using a project-based, skills development approach, where participants explore and develop their specific media interests.  Practicing ones chosen craft is how interests turn to skills and relevant experience. This then motivates participants to pursue pathways that are tailored to their strengths. This approach fosters confident, productive and innovative creators.

This program format encourages collaboration by placing participants with common interests together so they build connections and productive working relationships. The benefit of working in a team environment develops skill sharing, social skill development and empowerment. Camp Createability Media Lab makes for a normal learning environment as it simulates common studio environments, where participants can learn about and develop essential industry based work skills.

There are few vocational, employment and arts based options open to young adults on the Autism Spectrum. Camp Createability Media Lab prepares participants for careers by teaching media production skills in areas such as graphic design, video editing, motion graphics, sound recording, camera operation, stop-motion animation and more.
